Dear Coiled Supporters,
Yay April!
We’re keeping events pretty light this month so I can put all my energy into the Case Sale—which is now open to everyone. If you’ve been reading these letters for a while, you know I’m slowly winding down on the winemaking side of things. People are drinking less, and, well… I am getting older.
Am I sad? Nope. Not even a little.
I’ve had 26 wonderful years making wine—20 of those right here at Coiled. That’s a good, long run, and I feel really lucky. Also… I am ready to sleep more.
But—but—but! We still have a whole lot of beautiful wine here, and I am very excited to keep sharing it with you.
So, why a case sale?
Short answer: I might be sharing the building with another business, and I need to make some space just in case that happens.
Longer answer: I don’t totally know what this will look like yet—but I’m curious and a little excited to find out. There’s no panic here. Coiled isn’t going anywhere. I could keep things exactly as they are… but we just don’t need quite so much space anymore. So I’m exploring.
And don’t worry—I love what we’ve built here way too much to bring in just anyone. If another business joins us, it will be because it’s a really, really good fit.
Right now, the back of the building is full of wine and winemaking equipment. If an opportunity pops up, I want to be ready—and that means making a little room to breathe.
The tasting room? Totally normal. Business as usual.
You may, however, notice that I am slightly more… high-strung than usual. (Fun!) I’m personally filling all the case sale orders so I can keep a very close eye on inventory. Honestly, it’s kind of a thrill to wake up and check for orders. Like Christmas, but with spreadsheets.
A few quick notes:
This is a pick-up-only sale
Mixed cases allowed
There are 7 wines included
When they’re gone, they’re gone
But! This is not a clearance situation. If something sells out from the case sale, we may still have it in the tasting room. I’m just setting aside a portion of inventory to help create space.
Example: Rizza is limited to 6 bottles per order. I expect it to disappear quickly from the sale—but we’ll still have it available when you come in.
Alright, I’m keeping this short because my brain is officially a little fried.
I hope your April includes some sunshine, a few good bike rides, and maybe some time poking around in your yard. And when you need a break from all that… come see us on the patio.
Cheers to bright flowers!
-Leslie
