Andrew Templeman

Andrew Templeman is a musician and artist born and raised in Boise, Idaho. During his teenage years he was a member of several local rock bands. After earning an Industrial Design degree in Oregon, Andrew moved to California to work as a designer.

In 2017 he and his family returned to Boise to pursue a life with more financial and creative freedom. Andrew started designing and building clocks, paintings, sculptures, and other wall decor to be sold under the name, “Autronic Decor”. To check off all of his creativity boxes, Andrew teamed up with a couple of old friends to form the local band, Safety Shells. He periodically performs with the group— and as a solo act — in downtown Boise.

March 7

"I’ve always loved visiting the grand landscapes of the world. Nothing compares to the exhilarating feeling of being in the mountains and forests, in the desert canyons and along the seashores, experiencing firsthand the sights, sounds, smells, sun, wind, rain, flora, fauna, and even the insects that make the experience complete. Through my images, I attempt the elusive challenge of bringing some of that experience back in the two dimensional world of photography.

Careful composition, timing, and the right light are crucial to this process, but it does not end there. Painstaking attention to detail during post-processing is necessary to coax the best possible image from the raw data captured by the camera’s imperfect sensor. In the words of my greatest inspiration, Ansel Adams, ‘The Negative is the Score, the Print the Performance’. It was true in the days of film, and the digital equivalent is still true today. My goal is to produce a fine art print that shows how I felt when I made the image, but that remains true to the original scene."

Pop Art!

Meet the Artist 5-9pm

An Idaho-based visual artist, Nadene Kranz divides her time between her high-mountain desert studio, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and her Charlotte, NC, art studio, and helps lead painting safaris in locations around the globe. Ever since Nadene Kranz has been granted the coveted privilege as a Copyist at America’s National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, she has not lacked inspiration of things to paint. Her works are in the Collections of McDermott, Will and Emery in DC, Dr. Denise Pathroff, Rich Prem of Amazon. Like masters of the past, she has learned the art of painting from the greatest works of all time.

Ms. Kranz credits her proficiency to her study under French and Russian master painters. Mssr Antonin Passemard and Mdm Anastasia Dukhanina in France.

From prairie scenes of her childhood home in Montana to the galleries in museums around the world, she has expanded her sources of inspiration to include American Impressionism, the Baroque period, and Abstract Expressionism. Nadene strives to capture the genius of Michelangelo, the photorealism of the Baroque period, and the Impressionists fascination with light and color.

Ms. Kranz is an active member of the Plein Air Painters of Idaho She has exhibited in Washington DC, North Carolina, Montana, Idaho, North Dakota and France.

D’Arcy Bellamy Artist Statement

All of my sculptures are created from steel pipe. I like that I am recycling a utilitarian, unromantic, extremely practical material that has been largely overlooked by other artists. Each of my sculptures is completely unique; there is no casting or duplication of any kind.

I have been sculpting since 2002. I am largely self taught. I focus on creating light, delicate, free form shapes which capture the essence of movement and are fun for the viewer to look at. Many of the finished forms spring to life when gently touched and cast interesting shadows when they are lit. The base material naturally lends itself to objects with strong negative space, curves and tension.

Brian Farrell Statement

2SandsMerc is a local company out of Star, Idaho. Owner Bryan Farrell is an Army veteran, husband, and soon-to-be father who began making wine racks as a hobby in his free time. With his wife having worked in the wine industry for almost a decade however, word got out and it soon became something more. Working with steel and real leather hides, he can create anything from a one-bottle tabletop display to large-scale pieces to hold your entire collection. He named the company 2Sands to represent the time he spent deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. For more information, visit his shop at Etsy.com/shop/2SandsMerc or email him at 2SandsMerc@gmail.com

Small Business Saturday

A Note from Meredith:

Hello all you darlings,

Have you heard the tag line “put your $ where your ❤️ is”? I have carried this mantra with me for a while now and have been able to put it to great use in Boise. We are so fortunate to have many local resources to shop small and support our community of family and friends.

From the food you eat, the gifts you give, the businesses you support, and the wine you drink ;) we all have the opportunity to be conscious consumers and give back to our neighbors while bettering the environment, ensuring local jobs and celebrating the uniqueness of Boise.

We know you have so many options in where to spend your hard earned dough and want to sincerely thank you for continuing to support Coiled Wines.

“You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy local and it’s kinda the same thing”

-Meredith

First Thursday with Susan Valiquette

We welcome photographer Susan Valiquette for the month of November in the downtown spot. Susan and her urban landscapes will be present for a "Meet the Artist" experience on

First Thursday, November 1st, from 5-9 pm.

Come chat up the artist and enjoy some seasonal warmed Winter Banter!

Susan Valiquette

Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a child. Drawing my primary inspiration from people in their everyday surroundings, I have mostly focused my work in urban landscapes. Recently, I traveled to Eastern Europe where I had the pleasure of immersing myself in ancient cultures grasping with both the imperatives as well as the impediments of the modern world. I hope I have been able to capture some of that challenging dynamic.
